Some of us started to travel around the country before the semester started and never really stopped; others start only now but nonetheless, they get more impressions than others get in the whole lives.
We laughed, we cried, we partied, we quarreled – but in the end we had an unforgettable time here.
Some of us started to travel around the country before the semester started and never really stopped; others start only now but nonetheless, they get more impressions than others get in the whole lives. That’s why you should take the opportunity and make a semester abroad – because in the end, it doesn’t really matter where you are, but what you made happen in this time.
In my case it’s four months San Diego, four months sharing your bedroom with a person you only had very little in common in the beginning; but in the end you are a well-balanced team. It’s a chance to get to know people newly, to redefine teamwork and to have a lot of fun.
Four months, enjoying the sun, what a manager could never compensate with money, seeing a sunset, with which a designer or journalist would struggle to put it on paper. Meeting people who enjoy their lives to the full but nonetheless climb the social ladder.
For months, abreast with Mexico, which starts spreading it’s own charm only after a few inches behind the boarder. Quickly jump on a plane and fly to Hawaii and spend a long weekend in paradise.
Getting to know a university in a completely different way and realizing how even a professor can get a very good friend. Meeting new people from different universities from all over the world and having a BBQ in the evening to spend the remains of the day together.
Driving the Pacific Coast Highway up and down, thinking you were in Ireland or Scotland at the coast; or in a canadian forest but nonetheless it only takes you few footsteps to be in the Yosemite National park and stand in the snow.
That and a lot more is possible in the land of opportunity…
In that sense I hope that everyone can get an idea of San Diego and the surroundings through the pictures. The country and the people are definitely awesome and sometimes special but it makes a lot of fun. Of course it is impossible to find a place where you don’t make any bad experiences, if you want to know about any good or bad experiences here in San Diego, you should definitely talk to other students. That will also help you to not do them! And if you already talk to them ask them for some funny anecdotes about Tacco Tuesday 😉
